Fisher & Paykel Secondary Outstanding Product Award At the 30th Anniversary Young Achievement Australia National Awards Event at the Westin Sydney, ShzAYam, a group of 18 students from Canberra Girls Grammer and Merici College participating in the Business Skills Program were awarded the Fisher & Paykel Secondary Outstanding Product Award after developing "Kids in the Kitchen" to promote confidence and life skills, teaching children about safety in the kitchen. Kids in the Kitchen is a professionally printed colour children's cookbook and apron set designed for primary school aged children featuring 20 recipes covering a variety of savory and sweet dishes. The product is exciting and innovative and comes with a low-cost yet useful apron, a certificate of completion to celebrate the child's achievements as well as incorporating a clear system of cooking competency. ShzAYam were aggressive in their approach to the marketplace in a bid to heighten product awareness, exposure and inturn sales. The company drew on local opportunities including school newsletters, presentations at school assemblies and promotions at children's events and local clubs including scouts. In addition to this flyers were distributed to encourage further product orders. "We were pleased with our efforts and were rewarded with strong and positive customer feedback. Fortunately we did not receive any complaints other than the request for more product - a complaint we are happy to live with!" says Miranda Cookman, Managing Director, ShzAYam. ShzAYam currently has an offer from an entrepreneurial company to sell the Intellectual Property Rights hence continuing the success of this product in the Australian market. - Ends - For further information or to arrange an interview, please contact:- Carley Johns, Young Achievement Australia Ph. 02 9232 3088 or 0409 299 450 About Young Achievement Australia Young Achievement Australia is a dynamic, innovative, non government, not for profit organisation committed to developing the boundless potential of young Australians.
