Tax Office Tertiary Annual Report Award

At the 30th Anniversary Young Achievement Australia National Awards Event at the Westin Sydney, ASPYA a group made up of 16 students from Deakin University, Monash University and the University of Melbourne participating in the Business Skills Program were awarded the Tax Office Tertiary Annual Report Award after developing a unique product they called "Bed Bugs".

Bed Bugs is an innovative product developed for the Australian market. With its unique design and simple look, Bed Bugs are quilt clips invented specifically to solve a common household problem: quilts moving inside the quilt cover and fitting quilt covers onto quilts.

It is designed as a double ended clip which connects corners of the quilt and thus maintains the position of the quilt in the cover. Bed Bugs were packaged as a pack of four.

The product was manufactured in-house and more than 350 Bed Bugs packs were sold returning 123% to shareholders.

"ASPYA were a Blue Chip Company meeting the statutory obligations of a company to provide shareholders and other stakeholders with an Annual Report.

The Annual Report was well written and presented and clearly demonstrated what the company had achieved throughout its' short life" explained Suzanne Sinclair, First Assistant Commissioner, Law and Practice, Australian Taxation Office.
