Business Enterprise™ for Primary Schools

Enterprise education seeks to foster in students the relevant skills and values which will assist them to integrate different perspectives on schooling and opportunities beyond, such as:

  • creativity, innovation and self-reliance;
  • the ability to generate, recognise and seize opportunities;
  • greater appreciation of the need for lifelong learning; and
  • personal development that will help them to be more adaptable.

Enterprise education aims to achieve curriculum outcomes more effectively; reflects a commitment by schools to making schooling more meaningful and practical for students; and is a commitment to teach students a range of essential knowledge, skills and values to underpin their life journey, including their employability.

Business Enterprise™ for Primary Schools is a 20 hour fun and experiential program designed to assist teachers to introduce activities that foster enterprise learning - providing students with the experience of "learning by doing" by working collectively to operate their own business enterprise. The program encourages high levels of participation, ownership and co-operation.

The program is cross curricular and can be introduced into any of the eight (8) key learning areas.

A Business Enterprise ™ Program for Primary Schools materials include:
  • Teacher Resource Handbook which includes: 10 Mini-missions and 7 extension Mini-missions plus preparation, suggestions for delivery, aims, tasks and student handouts
  • Supplementary Computer Application Activities including internet, intranet, word processing and desktop publishing
  • Students receive a Certificate of Participation and the school receives an Enterprising School Certificate.
